Over the last 10-15 years, our nation has seen a massive employment migration to the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. We are always fielding questions from both job seekers and newly hired professionals who need medical terminology knowledge NOW.

Landing a new job is exciting, but learning the new lingo that comes with it can be challenging, especially if you are looking to enter the  healthcare field. Medical terminology is a whole new vocabulary, and it’s a necessary qualification for most, if not all, healthcare professions.

Learning a whole new vocabulary can be frustrating if you don’t have time to attend a semester long program or read out of a dictionary (Who does?).  Thankfully, we at Corexcel have a solution!

Students taking our online, self-paced Medical Terminology course have gone on to work as:

  • Paramedics
  • Firefighters
  • Physician’s Assistants
  • Medical Billers and Coders
  • Health Insurance Professionals
  • Healthcare Administrative Staff Members
  • And more

Hundreds of colleges and universities, hospital systems, insurance companies, healthcare organizations and job seekers have turned to our online, self-paced Medical Terminology course to fulfill their needs, and here’s why!

Fully Accredited

Our online Medical Terminology course is fully accredited for CEUs and/or 3 College Credits. Students have the option to receive a certificate of completion and 9.5 IACET Continuing Education Units or 3 College Credits through our partnership with ITCAP and Pima Community College located in Tucson, AZ. Students who complete the course for college credit receive an official Pima Community College transcript and letter grade.

Online & Self-paced

Students receive access to our course for one full year, allowing them to complete the course on their own time. The course is online, meaning there are no CD’s or DVD’s to install. The course can be run on any computer around the world, as long as you have a stable Internet connection and your username and password handy.

Textbooks & Dictionary Option

We do not require students to purchase textbooks since all of the material is contained online. However, we do offer the coordinating Medical Terminology for Health Professions textbook and Mosby’s Dictionary to learners who prefer blended learning and/or looking for resources to use while in the field.

Audio Playback

In addition to knowing the medical terminology, you want to be able to pronounce the words correctly. Medical terms include written pronunciations and audio playback, so that you can both look and sound the part.

Tests

We do not require you to take all of the exams in the course, but they are there to help you assess your progress and retention. Tests are online and self-paced, allowing you to leave your exam and resume where you left off. Inside the course, there are 15 chapter tests, 1 midterm exam, 1 final exam and bonus Comprehensive Review Test and Word Part Review Test. Students who complete the course for college credit take an online exam outside the course that is graded and processed by Pima Community College.
