Mobile Manners During Meetings
Are you guilty of texting, emailing or answering a call while you’re in a meeting? Read on… that type of behavior is not so well-received. Read on for some interesting statistics on mobile manners.
According to a report from Howard University and the University of Southern California that analyzed data from more than 350 workers:
- 8 in 10 consider it rarely or never acceptable to talk on the phone, text or email during a meeting.
- Women are twice as likely as men to be offended.
- Professionals in the West, especially the Southwest, are far less accepting than those on the East Coast.
- Workers age 21 to 30 are more than three times as likely as those over 40 to consider it appropriate to check texts and email at meetings.
